When is the next season of Comic Book Men coming out??? Looks just like Walt! Anyway, I'm burnt out on Nerd videos also but I've been watching them since 2008? I saw Angry Gamer or whatever his name was 1st. It was just great to see all these old games again. I liked that Angry Gamer always beat the games and showed the endings. But James filmmaking skills proved to be really great especially in the infancy of youtube. So I've see all these games again and I think I'm good for this lifetime. That being said, I can't say if James has gotten redundant or I've just played the videos out. It would be interesting to hear from others who may be seeing his work for the 1st time? How much does he pull in if that is public info? His videos continue to rake in a few hundred thousand views last I checked? I'll give him credit there. I've seen so many youtubers that I enjoyed hit their expiration date never to be heard from again. James is definitely still going if nothing else. But, Yeah, I might watch a little of his newer work and then my attention goes elsewhere these days. This comment is actually in response to one of your other videos.

That animation program is Mario Paint, it's really easy to record on a VCR since it plays on a TV, and you can make simple animations and compose music on it, it's a great SNES game to have if you're a creative kid in the early 90s.

Haven't watched these, but it sounds like there's a lot of parallels between this and the early Polonia Brothers movies, which have a similar charm. Hallucinations is def worth checking out.

I love AVGN and watched (and continue to re-watch) every episode... But honestly I've tried to watch the Movie two times now, and I fell asleep about three-quarters of the way through, both times. When I wake up I try to go back and pick up what I missed but I just fall asleep again. It's frustrating because I really want to like it but I can't. I'll have to try Frankie's unofficial cut.

I feel like the interesting thing about AVGN is that there are two camps of people: there are people like me that are over the age of 35 (I was 22 in 2006 when he came up) who honestly thought that the AVGN character when it first came out was someone you were supposed to laugh at not with. I've said it since the beginning and I will die on this hill: James stole the character of a drunken nerd forced to review bad games from the past while cursing profusely from SeanBaby. He just happened to luck up and be the first guy to get it on YouTube, and Sean didn't see the market for that. The only difference between him and Sean though, is Sean's wit is impeccable and James is a 1 joke pony.

The second camp of people are like sycophants and ball washers for anything cinemassacre puts out because avgn has been around for so long that there are people in their twenties that have literally been watching him since they were little. You can't tell them otherwise because they legitimately equate "staying off social media" with "wholesome".

The guy needs to retire badly. I will give him that his commodore 64 review was outstanding, and that's because it was more of a straight laced review and not him going over the top ranting about donkey dick diarrhea doo doo farts. Jesus, imagine being famous for that.

No even sadder: imagine being beloved and famous for that, and you can't stand being beloved and famous for that. Because that is James's LIFE. AVGN puts food on that dude's table and pays his bills and he hates the character more than his worst critics do.

People love trash James for talking about his childhood movies so much but I have to be real, I think it's the coolest thing he's ever done. I think most artists are guilty to some extent of trying to hide our embarrassing early work and cultivate the illusion that we magically entered the world with our present level of ability. But James has always been upfront about how it took years--decades, really--of making crap before he hit it big with AVGN. And when I was a kid that was so reassuring to see. It made me want to pick up a camera and get out there because if this guy, who had a wildly successful web series, started out with a VHS camera and a paper mask, then what was my excuse for not at least trying?

I think his candidness about his early works spoke to a LOT of people of my generation who grew up with the wild west of early YouTube.

I do notice that as soon as the guy on the left is about to make a point/come to an epiphany, the guy on the right immediately interjects and attempts to fulfill the thought. This lets me know you guys are truly close friends- as my buddies and I often do this to each other, we're so close and experienced so much together we often know each other's thought processes. But for a stranger listening to you two talk, and wanting to hear from the both of you, it really grates on my attentive ear when I am mentally prepared for one voice to finish its thought, and another voice just stomps over it and says something different.

Any chance you can make overtures to try and minimize your interjections? They appear loud, fast, and often- and I can never really figure out what the guy on the left really thinks and feels because it's constantly superseded by the guy on the right.
